“ISID-2” (Instant Shooter Identification Kit version 2) allows an officer to narrow the field of suspects using a quick, accurate gunshot residue (GSR) analysis, saving law enforcement agencies substantial time and money in their investigations, and offering a strong additional interrogation tool. Unlike ‘conventional’ GSR tests, the ISID-2 is ‘binary’: it provides tests for both instant (field) results as well as confirmatory evidentiary (laboratory) results. The field test will produce results in a matter of minutes. The laboratory test contains the collection devices used for processing GSR on a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).

The “RIFF” (Rapid Identification Friend or Foe) kit is a militarised version of ISID, intended primarily for use in military operations in urban terrain (MOUT) to help separate insurgents from non-combatants. The small compact RIFF kit is used for conducting the field test alone. In a matter of minutes one can presumptively identify the presence of gun shot residue

The “ISID-E” (Instant Shooter Identification Evidentiary) Kit contains the collections devices that are used for processing on a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). It is intended for those agencies searching for a GSR test kit to be used exclusively in the lab. It will not provide for results in the field.
